About hardz — the open photograph and video archive
hardz is an independent online marketplace for authentic photographs and video, made by people, delivered clean, and priced simply — £7 for a print, £15 for a licence, 30% to the maker.
What hardz is
hardz is a photograph and video archive built for people who need real, camera-captured imagery — for editorial pieces, marketing campaigns, book covers, product design, gallery displays, personal collections, and anything in between. Where traditional stock-photo agencies offer complex subscription tiers and confusing licensing, hardz keeps it deliberately simple: two prices, one licence, thirty per cent royalty to the maker, no exceptions.
What kinds of photographs and video we provide
The hardz archive is deliberately broad and grows every day as contributors from around the world upload their work. You will find landscape photography (mountains, coasts, deserts, tundra, valleys, urban skylines), street photography from Tokyo alleyways to Portuguese village squares, portrait photography (formal and candid), documentary photography, architectural photography, still life and product photography, aerial and drone footage, timelapse video, b-roll for documentaries and productions, and editorial imagery with clear provenance and detailed titling. Contributors upload from Portugal, Iceland, Japan, Morocco, Norway, Italy, Peru, Vietnam, Scotland, Mexico, Georgia, Turkey, India, Greece, Argentina, and many other places.
How our pricing works
Every photograph on hardz costs £7 as a 4x6 inch archival print (shipped worldwide) and £15 as a licensed digital file. Every video costs £15 to license. There are no subscription tiers, no coin systems, no credits. Every hardz licence is non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, and commercial-cleared for editorial, advertising, product design, publishing, digital media, and broadcast use.
What buyers get
When you buy a print, we produce an archival inkjet on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag paper and ship it worldwide within 5-7 working days. When you license a photograph or video, we deliver the unwatermarked, full-resolution master file via a secure signed download link, along with a licence certificate PDF. Refunds are available within 14 days of purchase if unused.
What contributors get
If you make photographs or video, you can join hardz free of charge. Every asset you upload is automatically watermarked in preview, kept in a private master file until a buyer pays, reviewed by a human moderator within 48 hours, and sold at the same fixed prices as everything else. You earn 30% on every sale — £2.10 per print and £4.50 per licence — and keep your copyright entirely. Payouts happen monthly via Stripe Connect once your balance exceeds £50.
Why hardz does not accept AI-generated content
hardz does not accept AI-generated or AI-assisted imagery. Every asset in the archive was made by a person, with a camera, of a real place, object, or moment. Buyers can also license hardz work knowing it will not be used to train AI models.
Where hardz operates
hardz is a UK-based company. All prices are quoted in GBP; prints ship worldwide via our fulfilment partner. Licence files are delivered digitally to buyers in any country. Contributor payouts are handled through Stripe Connect.
